Tf Editores is the publisher of the The Art of Power: Royal Armor and Portraits from Imperial Spain catalogue. The catalogue has been published in conjunction with The Art of Power: Royal Armor and Portraits exhibition presented at Museo del Prado (from JMarch 9 to May 23, 2010). The exhibition offers an exceptional opportunity to see an important selection of works from the Prado displayed for the first time alongside the collection of armour belonging to Patrimonio Nacional. | JOAQUÍN SOROLLA |
We presented/displayed the best edition of the Valencian master Sorolla. His predisposition for the outdoors, the search for the momentary and the fleeting, the capture of the effects of light, the absence of black and small subtle brushstrokes are the most important characteristics of this impressionist painter.
In this work, as is habitual in our publishing house, we have carefully respected the reproduction of colour in his paintings, since therein lies the essence of light and the atmosphere so perfectly created by Sorolla.

It is impossible to comprehend Chambi’s works without acknowledging the fact that he lived and worked in Cuzco. He was closely tied to the impressive Andean landscape and its archaeological ruins, its racial and cultural mix and the progressive modernization of the city. Before settled in Cuzco, the personal relationships he forged with artists, painters, poets and musicians in Arequipa were also an important part of his professional training. Through them he nurtured his appreciation of art, overcoming the limitations of his school education.
